1		AN ACT concerning transportation.
2		Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3		represented in the General Assembly:
4		Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by changing
5		Section 5-801 as follows:
6		(625 ILCS 5/5-801) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 5-801)
7		Sec. 5-801. Criminal penalties. Any person who violates any
8		of the provisions of this Chapter, except a person who violates
9		a provision for which a different criminal penalty is
10		indicated, is shall be guilty of a Class A misdemeanor. Any
11		person who violates subsection (e) of Section 5-202 is guilty
12		of a Class C misdemeanor. Any person who violates any
13		provisions of Section 5-701 is shall be guilty of a Class 3
14		felony.

16		Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
17		becoming law.
