SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
405 ILCS 125/10

Amends the Housing is Recovery Pilot Program Act. Provides that an individual is eligible to receive a Housing is Recovery bridge rental subsidy for purposes of stabilizing his or her mental illness or substance use disorder if: (1) the individual is at high risk of unnecessary institutionalization who is 18 (rather than 21) years of age or older, or is aging out of guardianship under the Department of Children and Family Services, and who is eligible to enroll in, or is enrolled in, Medicaid for purposes of receiving mental health treatment; or (2) an individual at high risk of overdose who is 18 (rather than 21) years of age or older, or is aging out of guardianship under the Department of Children and Family Services, and who is eligible to enroll in, or is enrolled in, Medicaid for purposes of receiving substance use treatment.

1 AN ACT concerning health.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Housing is Recovery Pilot Program Act is
5amended by changing Section 10 as follows:
6 (405 ILCS 125/10)
7 Sec. 10. Eligibility. An individual meeting the
8requirements listed in this Section shall be eligible to
9receive a Housing is Recovery bridge rental subsidy for
10purposes of stabilizing his or her mental illness or substance
11use disorder.
12 (1) An individual at high risk of unnecessary
13 institutionalization who is 18 21 years of age or older,
14 or is aging out of guardianship under the Department of
15 Children and Family Services, and who is eligible to
16 enroll in, or is enrolled in, Medicaid for purposes of
17 receiving mental health treatment pursuant to 89 Ill. Adm.
18 Code 140.
19 (2) An individual at high risk of overdose who is 18 21
20 years of age or older, or is aging out of guardianship
21 under the Department of Children and Family Services, and
22 who is eligible to enroll in, or is enrolled in, Medicaid
23 for purposes of receiving substance use treatment.
