SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Peter J. "Pete" Militello, who passed
4away on December 5, 2014; and
5 WHEREAS, Peter Militello was born on April 26, 1923; he was
6a resident of Joliet for many years and graduated from Joliet
7Township High School in 1942; and
8 WHEREAS, Peter Militello served his country as a member of
9the United States Navy during World War II; he served on the
10USS Elden and the USS Chestatee as an Electrician's Mate 1st
11Class and was a recipient of the Purple Heart; and
12 WHEREAS, Peter Militello retired from Caterpillar after 31
13years of dedicated service; and
14 WHEREAS, Peter Militello was a life-member of Stone City
15Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2199, the American Italian
16Cultural Society, the Caterpillar Retirees Club, and the Church
17of St. Anthony; and
18 WHEREAS, Peter Militello was preceded in death by his wife,
19Marjorie (nee Sestak) Militello; his parents, Carl and
20Josephine Militello; and a sister, Rose (the late Edward) Lesh;

2 WHEREAS, Peter Militello is survived by 3 daughters, Judy
3(Hugh) Zimmerman, Sandy (Frank) Zamber, and Joan (David) Wrath;
4a granddaughter, Leah Wrath; a sister, Grace (the late Rudy)
5Lubich; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and
6friends; therefore, be it
7 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
9family and friends, mourn the passing of Peter J. "Pete"
10Militello; and be it further
11 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Peter Militello as an expression of
13our sympathy.
