2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Howard E. Buoy Sr. of Decatur, who |
4 | | passed away on December 21, 2024; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Howard Buoy, the son of Robert and Edith Buoy, |
6 | | was born in Pesotum in August 1926; he served as a sergeant in |
7 | | the U.S. Army during World War II; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Howard Buoy worked at Archer Daniels Midland |
9 | | (ADM) for close to 60 years, starting at the entry level |
10 | | position of sweeping floors and working his way up to the |
11 | | position of senior vice president of operations; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Howard Buoy was involved in many community |
13 | | activities, including the Lions Club, the Masons, the |
14 | | Shriners, the Pony League, the Conservation District, the |
15 | | Jefferson Jackson Club, the Young Democrats, and other |
16 | | Democratic Party organizations; and
|
17 | | WHEREAS, Howard Buoy was passionate about his family, |
18 | | farming, improving his community, and supporting the |
19 | | Democratic Party; he was an avid Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, |
20 | | and Fighting Illini fan; and
