SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
to learn of the death of Robert L. Pauley of Silvis, who passed
away on February 5, 2021; and
WHEREAS, Robert Pauley was born in Lucerne, Missouri to
Guy and Lena (Pettit) Pauley on October 3, 1931; he enlisted in
the U.S. Air Force in 1951, where he served with the Air Police
until his honorable discharge in 1955; and
WHEREAS, Robert Pauley worked at the Montgomery Wards in
Moline, where he retired after 30 years; and
WHEREAS, Robert Pauley loved being surrounded by his
family, telling jokes, and making people laugh; his life
revolved around his family, and he loved family gatherings;
his favorite thing to do was to spend time with his
grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly called him
Papa; and
WHEREAS, Robert Pauley was preceded in death by his
parents; numerous siblings; and his sons, Kenneth and Lynn;
and
WHEREAS, Robert Pauley is survived by his wife, Sherrie;

his children, Bobbie (Harry) Stelling, Kim (Crystal) Pauley,
Jim (Judy) Pauley, Mark (Jill) Pauley, Dani (Richard) Carter,
and Nick (Amanda) Pauley; his brother, Skip (Donna) Pauley;
his nephew, Rex (Carrie) Pauley; and many beloved
grandchildren and great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Robert L. Pauley and extend our sincere condolences to his
family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Robert Pauley as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
