2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Danny Barlow of Chicago, who passed |
4 | | away on July 3, 2024; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Danny Barlow was born to Marlene Barlow and |
6 | | Rapier "Ray" Bond in Chicago on June 13, 1953; he was the |
7 | | firstborn and the older sibling of four brothers, Samuel, |
8 | | Sylvester, Derrick, and Larry, and two sisters, Cheryl and |
9 | | Erica; he committed to his faith at an early age and was |
10 | | baptized at Morning Star Baptist Church; he attended |
11 | | Forestville Upper Grade Center and Dunbar Vocational High |
12 | | School and participated in a variety of activities, which |
13 | | included singing, tap dancing, wrestling, and JROTC, where he |
14 | | achieved the rank of lieutenant colonel and was a battalion |
15 | | commander, and he played the piano, the bugle, and the |
16 | | trumpet; and

17 | | WHEREAS, Danny Barlow married Linda, and they had two |
18 | | children, Danny and William, before the marriage ended and |
19 | | they subsequently became lifelong friends; he married Marie |
20 | | years later, and she brought to the union six children, |
21 | | Tyjuana, Jack, Cyrita, Lamar, Edward, and Lawrence, before |
22 | | they had three children of their own, Vernon, Daniel, and |
23 | | Maria; together, they were the grandparents and |
