1		SENATE RESOLUTION
2		WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3		congratulate Thaddeus Bergschneider on being named president
4		of the National FFA Organization at the 97th National FFA
5		Convention & Expo, which was held in Indianapolis, Indiana
6		from October 23 to October 26, 2024; and
7		WHEREAS, The National FFA Organization, an intracurricular
8		student organization formerly known as the Future Farmers of
9		America (FFA), consists of more than one million student
10		members from more than 9,000 local chapters located across all
11		50 states, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands; and
12		WHEREAS, Thaddeus Bergschneider, a former member of the
13		Franklin FFA Chapter and 2023-24 president of the Illinois
14		FFA, was raised on the fifth-generation JP Bergschneider
15		Farms, where his family grows corn and soybeans and raises
16		cattle and turkeys in Morgan County; and
17		WHEREAS, Thaddeus Bergschneider was selected as the
18		2024-25 president of the National FFA Organization from among
19		37 candidates who all participated in an extensive interview
20		process with the National FFA Officer Nominating Committee;
21		and

1		WHEREAS, Thaddeus Bergschneider's selection as president
2		of the National FFA Organization makes him the first Illinois
3		student chosen to lead the organization in three decades; and
4		WHEREAS, As president, Thaddeus Bergschneider will
5		represent and lead FFA members across the country while
6		working alongside five other members of the 2024-25 National
7		FFA Officer Team to drive the organization's mission of
8		developing future leaders through agricultural education; and
9		WHEREAS, Thaddeus Bergschneider is currently a freshman at
10		the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he is
11		pursuing a degree in agricultural and consumer economics in
12		the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental
13		Sciences (ACES); therefore, be it
14		RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
15		ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate
16		Thaddeus Bergschneider on being named president of the
17		National FFA Organization at the 97th National FFA Convention &
18		Expo, and we wish him continued success in his endeavors; and
