Synopsis: Study audit requirements for service providers. Requires the
division of disability and rehabilitative services of the office of the
secretary of family and social services to conduct a study on the
number and types of audits and surveys required of entities providing
services for which the division pays and to report back to the
developmental disabilities commission and the health finance
commission by September 1, 2011.
Effective: Upon passage.

HOUSE BILL No. 1047
A BILL FOR AN ACT concerning human services.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SECTION 1. [EFFECTIVE UPON PASSAGE] (a) As used in this
SECTION, "division" refers to the division of disability and
rehabilitative services established by IC 12-9-1-1.
(b) As used in this SECTION, "provider" refers to any entity
that receives funding from the division.
(c) The division shall:
(1) conduct a study of the various federal, state, and local
audits and reviews that are required to be conducted by
providers; and
(2) report its findings to the commission on developmental
disabilities established by IC 2-5-27.2-2 and to the health
finance commission established by IC 2-5-23-3 not later than
September 1, 2011.
(d) In conducting the study required by subsection (c), the
division must consult with providers.
(e) This SECTION expires December 31, 2011.
