        A HOUSE RESOLUTION congratulating Shelby Bartlett on winning the 2012 girls state diving championship.
    

    Whereas, On February 11, 2012, Shelby Bartlett became the first girl from Fishers High School to win the individual Indiana High School Athletic Association state diving championship;

    Whereas, Shelby scored 458.55 points to finish the tournament as the only undefeated female diver in the state;

    Whereas, Shelby won by 24 points over the second place finisher and 31.25 points over the third place finisher to clinch the championship;


    Whereas, Shelby's state championship was the second individual state championship in Fishers High School's history;

    Whereas, Winning the state championship capped an incredible career for Shelby, as her individual season record was an astonishing 15 wins and 0 losses;

    Whereas, Shelby was team captain during her senior year and was selected to the All-Conference, All-Sectional, All-Regional, and All-State teams;

    Whereas, In addition to her state championship, Shelby was the Conference, Sectional, and Regional champion and was honored as All-Area Diver of the Year;

    Whereas, During her career, Shelby has been a three-time state finalist, three-time All-American, Conference champion, Sectional champion, and Regional champion, and a four-year varsity letter winner;

    Whereas, Shelby's accomplishments have earned her a scholarship to the University of Arkansas; and

    Whereas, Shelby Bartlett has enjoyed an exceptionally successful high school diving career that has culminated in her becoming the first girl from Fishers High School to win a state diving championship, an achievement that has taken a tremendous amount of preparation and perseverance: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:


    SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives congratulates Shelby Bartlett on winning the 2012 girls diving state championship.
    SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit copies of this resolution to Shelby Bartlett and her parents, Randall and Deborah Bartlett; principal Jason Urban; athletic director Jon Miles; and coaches Kristy Ford and Jeff Ford.
