A HOUSE RESOLUTION urging the legislative council
to assign the topic of wind farms to an interim study committee.
Whereas, Wind farms may offer promise for the future, but
the people of Indiana should thoroughly study the topic and
determine what regulations for the construction and operation
of wind farms are required;
Whereas, Although wind farms may offer promise for the
future, there may be possible adverse side effects of this energy
source; and
Whereas, To ensure that all aspects of the establishment
and use of wind farms in Indiana are thoroughly vetted, further
study should be pursued: Therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the
General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
SECTION 1. That the legislative council is urged to assign the
topic of wind farms to an interim study committee.
SECTION 2. That the committee, if established, shall study the
role of the state of Indiana in the establishment and regulation of wind
farms and the effect these wind farms could have on the surrounding
communities.
SECTION 3. That the committee, if established, shall operate
under the direction of the legislative council and that the committee
shall issue such reports as directed by the council.
