Synopsis: Allen superior court elections. Removes provision that prohibits a judge or candidate for judge of the Allen superior court from accepting more than $10,000 in contributions from all sources to pay expenses connected with the judge's or candidate's candidacy. Repeals penalty provision for violating that provision.

Effective: July 1, 2011.

    A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning courts and court officers.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SOURCE: IC 33-33-2-11; (11)IN0149.1.1. -->     SECTION 1. IC 33-33-2-11 IS AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2011]: Sec. 11. A judge or candidate for judge of the Allen superior court may not
        (1) accept a contribution (as defined in IC 3-5-2-15) from any political party, political action committee (as defined in IC 3-5-2-37), or regular party committee (as defined in IC 3-5-2-42). or
        (2) accept more than a total of ten thousand dollars ($10,000) in contributions from all sources to pay expenses connected with the candidate's candidacy.
