SENATE RESOLUTION


MADAM PRESIDENT:

    I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:

        A SENATE RESOLUTION urging the legislative council to assign to the Health Finance Commission the topic of biosimilar biological products.

    Whereas, A biosimilar biological product is defined as a biological product that has been licensed as a biosimilar product under federal law and is highly similar to the reference product with no clinically meaningful difference between the biological product and the reference product in terms of safety, purity, and potency of the product and only minor differences in clinically inactive components; and

    Whereas, It behooves the state of Indiana to study how Indiana law may affect prescribing and substituting of biosimilar biological products for other drugs: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate

of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

    SECTION 1. That the legislative council is urged to assign to the Health Finance Commission the topic of biosimilar biological products.
