1.3program; appropriating money.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.5    Section 1. TEACH FOR AMERICA; APPROPRIATION.
1.6$1,000,000 in fiscal year 2014 and $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2015 are appropriated
1.7from the general fund to the director of the Minnesota Office of Higher Education for the
1.8purpose of supporting Teach for America. The appropriation shall be used for:
1.9(1) expenses related to the recruitment, selection, and training of Teach for America
1.10corps members;
1.11(2) ongoing professional development and support of Teach for America corps
1.12members;
1.13(3) ongoing alumni support; and
1.14(4) regional management and operational support, development, and central services,
1.15including finance, technology, and human services.
1.16The appropriations are expected to leverage an additional $2,121,230 in fiscal year
1.172014 and $3,428,730 in fiscal year 2015 in nonstate money.
