1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to health; establishing an HIV transmission public education program;
1.3proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 144.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.5    Section 1. [144.066] HIV TRANSMISSION AWARENESS AND EDUCATION.
1.6The commissioner of health shall design and implement an ongoing statewide
1.7campaign to raise awareness and educate the public about HIV transmission and
1.8prevention. The campaign must include messages directed to the general population as
1.9well as culturally specific and community-based messages.
1.10A toll-free resource and referral telephone line and Web site shall be included in
1.11the messages. The commissioner of health shall conduct an evaluation to determine the
1.12effectiveness of the campaign.
