1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring Lawrence and Belle Gilbery on the occasion of their 75th
1.3wedding anniversary.
1.4WHEREAS, Lawrence and Belle Gilbery were married on December 17, 1935, in
1.5Jonesboro, Arkansas; and
1.6WHEREAS, they came to Glyndon, Minnesota, in January 1936, and farmed together in
1.7the Glyndon area for 43 years; and
1.8WHEREAS, Lawrence and Belle attended the Congregational Church in Glyndon; and
1.9WHEREAS, they raised five daughters, who all graduated from Glyndon High School, and
1.10they have enjoyed 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and
1.11WHEREAS, they have even further enjoyed three great-great-grandchildren, and five
1.12more on the way; and
1.13WHEREAS, Lawrence and Belle are currently residing in the Fairmont Assisted Living
1.14Facility in Moorhead, Minnesota; NOW, THEREFORE,
1.15BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it congratulates Lawrence
1.16and Belle Gilbery on 75 years of marriage, and wishes them many more years of happiness.
1.17BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare
1.18an enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of
1.19the Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Lawrence and
1.20Belle Gilbery.
