Summary

An Act To Amend Section 47-7-5, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Require That Whenever The Governor Requests That The State Parole Board Investigate An Applicant For A Clemency Recommendation, The Board Shall Keep Files Pertaining To The Investigation And Shall Develop A Tracking Mechanism For Such Files; To Require The Board To Spread Upon Its Official Minutes Either The Board's Support Or Nonsupport Of A Pardon Recommendation; To Extend The Date Of Repeal On This Section From July 1, 2012, To July 1, 2014; To Amend Section 47-7-31, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Require The Commissioner Of Corrections To Keep Certain Files And Make Certain Reports Regarding Clemency Investigations; And For Related Purposes.
