House Bill 1340
AN ACT TO REQUIRE THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSISSIPPI, MISSISSIPPI STATE UNIVERSITY, THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI, JACKSON STATE UNIVERSITY AND ALCORN STATE UNIVERSITY TO PLAY FOOTBALL AGAINST EACH OTHER AT LEAST ONCE EVERY FIVE YEARS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) The Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning shall require the University of Mississippi, Mississippi State University, the University of Southern Mississippi, Jackson State University and Alcorn State University to each compete in football against each of the other universities at least once every five (5) years, beginning in the 2013 season.
(2) The Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning may promulgate rules and regulations as necessary to enforce the provisions of subsection (1) of this section.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2012.
