AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF TUNICA COUNTY TO NEGOTIATE DIRECTLY WITH A CERTAIN HEALTHCARE SYSTEM FOR THE PROVISION OF OUTPATIENT HEALTHCARE SERVICES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 41-13-15, Mississippi Code of 1972, or any other provision of law, the Board of Supervisors of Tunica County, Mississippi, in its discretion, may negotiate directly with Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in the execution of an agreement establishing a joint venture between the county and Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare for the provision of outpatient healthcare services to the residents and visitors of Tunica County through publicly or privately operated clinics, or both, and other related healthcare support facilities located in Tunica County. For purposes of this act, "Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare" includes a subsidiary or subsidiaries of Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare.
(2) The provisions of this section shall be repealed on July 1, 2014.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
