AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF JEFFERSON DAVIS COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO EXPEND A PORTION OF THE OIL AND GAS SEVERANCE TAX REVENUE DISTRIBUTED TO THE COUNTY TO ASSIST IN DEFRAYING THE COST OF GARBAGE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The Board of Supervisors of Jefferson Davis County, Mississippi, is authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to expend an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00) of the oil and gas severance tax revenue distributed to the county pursuant to Sections 27-25-505 and 27-25-705, Mississippi Code of 1972, to assist in defraying the cost of garbage collection and disposal in the county.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
