A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING THE FLORENCE HIGH SCHOOL EAGLES BOYS SOCCER TEAM UPON WINNING THE MISSISSIPPI HIGH SCHOOL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION CLASS 4A BOYS SOCCER STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.
WHEREAS, after an exciting championship game that ended in a 3-2 penalty kick shootout, with tremendous saves from Logan Helms and penalty kicks made by Baylor Little, Bailey Mickle and Tanner Brunson; the Florence High School Eagles Boys Soccer Team defeated Bay High to claim the Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 4A State Championship; and
WHEREAS, finishing the season 14-9-1, the Eagles outscored opponents this season 70 to 39, with both statistics being marked improvements over last season; and

WHEREAS, Florence's team statistics were impressive, and there were outstanding headers, strikes, penalty kicks and goals by individual players, but the key to this team's success has been the constant team atmosphere and year-round hard work; and

WHEREAS, the Eagles have been superbly coached and inspired by Head Coach Joshua Cavanaugh and Assistant Coach Bill Hood, who have broadened the Eagles' knowledge of the game and refined their skills in execution; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize and commend the superb accomplishments of Mississippi's student-athletes, especially those such as the Florence High School Eagles Boys Soccer Team, whose excellence on and off the field brings honor to their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi:
