A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE EXCEPTIONAL AND DEDICATED CAREER OF MR. BILLY GLOVER, JR., AND CONGRATULATE HIM UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT AS THE CITY OF CORINTH WASTE WATER TREATMENT SUPERINTENDENT AFTER 34 YEARS OF SERVICE.

     WHEREAS, Mr. Billy Glover, Jr., of Iuka, Mississippi, embarked upon the lighter years of life by commencing his retirement on February 17, 2016, after 34 years of distinguished service to the City of Corinth; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Glover, originally from Iuka, Mississippi, graduated from Burnsville High School and earned his associate degree from Northeast Mississippi Community College, in Booneville, Mississippi; and

     WHEREAS, in 1982 Mr. Glover began his career as an operator with the city waste water treatment plant, never afraid of working hard, he displayed an incomparable level of dedication and commitment which led to his promotion to co-superintendent of the Corinth Waste Water Treatment Plant; and

     WHEREAS, a distinguished servant in his community, Mr. Glover also served as a Justice Court Judge in Tishomingo County, reaffirming his commitment to bettering his community as evidenced by his 12 years of service as Tishomingo County Justice Court Judge; and

     WHEREAS, through his faith, Mr. Glover has continued his service to others, as he teaches an adult Sunday School class each week and also looks forward to being involved in the church's building project; he also enjoys reading the Bible and listening to gospel music; and

     WHEREAS, after 34 years of dedicated service to his community, Mr. Glover looks forward to spending more irreplaceable quality time with his wife, sons and grandchildren and playing golf, hunting and fishing; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize the unparalleled commitment and professionalism of individuals of exceptional caliber, such as Mr. Glover, whose hard work and commitment to public service has been of great benefit to the State of Mississippi and all of those he has selflessly served:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend the dedicated service and stellar career of Mr. Billy Glover, Jr., congratulate him upon the occasion of his retirement after 34 years of dedicated public service and extend best wishes for continued success in all his future endeavors as he enjoys the well deserved days of his retirement.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Billy Glover, Jr., and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
