A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MR. STACY AND MRS. MABLE AUSTIN UPON THE DIAMOND OCCASION OF THEIR 75TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY.
WHEREAS, Mr. Stacy and Mrs. Mable Austin celebrated 75 years of wedded bliss on January 24, 2023, a truly wonderful occasion; and
WHEREAS, meeting at the intersection of love and happiness, Mr. and Mrs. Austin exchanged the vows of holy matrimony on Saturday, January 24, 1948, in Lambert, Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Austin is the former Ms. Mable Ward, of Lambert, and is a retired security screener for the Golden Triangle Regional Airport; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Austin served three years in the United States Army, and 20 years in the United States Air Force, specializing in aircraft maintenance; and
WHEREAS, during his tour of duty at Patrick Air Force Base in Cocoa, Florida, Mr. Austin was on the United States Air Force team that helped put the first man on the moon in July 1969, and is a veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam War; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Austin were blessed with three children, Barbara Austin Langley, the late Kathy Austin Loftin, and the late Stacy Rocky Austin; four grandchildren, Stacy Langley Mayfield, Pamela Craig, Troy Loftin and the late Jessie Langley; and four great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, serving as a source of inspiration for all Mississippians, Mr. and Mrs. Austin's marriage sets a shining example of what love and commitment truly mean; and
WHEREAS, it is most appropriate to recognize and commend outstanding Mississippians such as Mr. Stacy and Mrs. Mable Austin as they celebrate their Diamond Anniversary:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Mr. Stacy and Mrs. Mable Austin upon the diamond occasion of their 75th wedding anniversary, and extend best wishes for many more years of happiness and love.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Stacy and Mrs. Mable Austin and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
