A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE LEGACY OF EFFECTIVE PUBLIC SERVICE OF LONGTIME MARSHALL COUNTY SUPERVISOR EDDIE DIXON AS PRESIDENT OF THE MISSISSIPPI ASSOCIATION OF SUPERVISORS.
WHEREAS, Mr. Eddie Dixon has served with distinction for the past three terms as a member and President of the Marshall County Board of Supervisors; and
WHEREAS, he was honored by his fellow supervisors by his selection to serve as President of the Mississippi Association of Supervisors from June 2015 through the Annual Meeting in June 2016. During his tenure he has been dedicated to bringing the Mississippi supervisors the most comprehensive programming and support services available; and
WHEREAS, a resident of Holly Springs, Mississippi, Eddie Dixon is a graduate of Alcorn State University. During his tenure on the Marshall County Board of Supervisors, he has been dedicated to maintaining the same level of county services without increasing taxes or cutting the county workforce. He has focused his efforts on the young citizens of Marshall County by supporting school and athletic programs and encouraging them to return to Marshall County to live and raise families; and
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we commend the enormous civic energy of the current President of the Mississippi Association of Supervisors who leaves a legacy of leadership, dedication and hard work for his colleagues and for all citizens in Mississippi:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby recognize the legacy of effective public service of longtime Marshall County Supervisor Eddie Dixon as President of the Mississippi Association of Supervisors, and extend the best wishes of the Legislature to Eddie and his family as he completes his tenure.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Eddie Dixon, forwarded to the Mississippi Association of Supervisors and the Marshall County Board of Supervisors, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
