A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to appropriate funds to the board of governors of the UNIVERSITY of north carolina for north carolina state university and the university of north carolina AT charlotte to research and study alternative fuels for transportation, as recommended by the house select committee on energy independence and alternative fuels.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Board of Governors of the University of North Carolina the sum of two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) for the 2012‑2013 fiscal year to be allocated to North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte to provide funds to conduct research on alternative fuels for the State's transportation sector.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2012.
