A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT to prohibit sex offenders from being emergency medical services personnel.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. G.S. 131E‑159 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:
"(h) A person who is required to register as a sex offender under Article 27A of Chapter 14 of the General Statutes shall not be granted EMS credentials. The Department shall not renew the credentials of any person who would be ineligible for EMS credentials under this subsection."
SECTION 2. This act is effective when it becomes law.
