Directs DOT to establish State highway connecting Green Street and Williams Avenue in Boro of Hasbrouck Heights.

An Act concerning the State Department of Transportation and adding a new route to the State highway system and supplementing Title 27 of the Revised Statutes.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. a. The Commissioner of Transportation shall, as soon as practicable, and in accordance with the procedures set forth in Title 27 of the Revised Statutes, lay out and improve as part of the State highway system the segment of Williams Avenue commencing at the intersection of Williams Avenue and Hasbrouck Avenue and extending along Williams Avenue in a southeasterly direction, beyond its current terminus, until it intersects with Green Street as it feeds into State Route 46 in the Boro of Hasbrouck Heights in Bergen County.
b. The commissioner is authorized to lay out the route for the extension, complete the design for construction of the extension, and begin acquisition of any right-of-way necessary for construction.
c. When this route is taken into the State highway system, as provided in this section, the commissioner shall designate the route by an appropriate route number as provided by law.
2. This act shall take effect immediately.
STATEMENT
This bill requires the Commissioner of Transportation (commissioner) to add to the State highway system the segment of Williams Avenue commencing at the intersection of Williams Avenue and Hasbrouck Avenue and extending along Williams Avenue in a southeasterly direction, beyond its current terminus, until it intersects with Green Street as it feeds into State Route 46 in the Boro of Hasbrouck Heights in Bergen County. The commissioner is authorized to lay out the route for the extension, complete the design for construction of the extension, and begin acquisition of any right-of-way necessary for construction.
