       AN  ACT  to  amend  the  environmental  conservation law, in relation to
         authorizing the installation of surveillance cameras
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1.  Section  27-0107 of the environmental conservation law is
    2  amended by adding a new subdivision 1-a to read as follows:
    3    1-A. LOCAL ENFORCEMENT. ANY MUNICIPAL  AGENCY  HAVING  AUTHORITY  OVER
    4  LOCAL  SANITIZATION OR WASTE MANAGEMENT MAY INSTALL SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS
    5  AND REVIEW SUCH CAMERA FOOTAGE TO HELP  IDENTIFY  INDIVIDUALS  WHO  HAVE
    6  ENGAGED IN ILLEGAL DUMPING.
    7    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
