       AN  ACT  to  amend  the criminal procedure law, in relation to notifying
         certain crime victims of the disposition of criminal trial
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1.  Subdivision 2 of section 380.50 of the criminal procedure
    2  law is amended by adding a new paragraph (g) to read as follows:
    3    (G) FOLLOWING THE ACQUITTAL AFTER  TRIAL  OR  THE  SENTENCING  OF  ANY
    4  DEFENDANT  FOR  A FELONY, THE CLERK OF THE COURT, OR SUCH CLERK'S DESIG-
    5  NEE, SHALL MAIL A WRITTEN SUMMARY OF THE DISPOSITION OF SUCH  FELONY  TO
    6  ANY  VICTIM WHO WAS NOT PRESENT AT THE TIME SUCH DEFENDANT WAS SENTENCED
    7  OR ACQUITTED AFTER TRIAL.
    8    S 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after
    9  it shall have become a law.
