          on Environmental Conservation

        AN  ACT  to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to the
          prohibition of hunting wild deer on state lands adjacent to a licensed
          wildlife rehabilitation facility

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section  1.  Section  11-0901 of the environmental conservation law is
     2  amended by adding a new subdivision 17 to read as follows:
     3    17. Notwithstanding any inconsistent provision of this  section,  deer
     4  shall  not be taken in the town of Southampton, county of Suffolk on any
     5  state lands directly adjacent to property  of  the  county  of  Suffolk,
     6  where  said  county  has permitted said property to be used for wildlife
     7  rehabilitation purposes, by a wildlife rehabilitator, licensed  pursuant
     8  to section 11-0515 of this article.
     9    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
