| Honoring Jenna Fesemyer on being recognized as the 2014 U.S. Paralympics Female Field Athlete of the Year. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Jenna Fesemyer as the 2014 United States Paralympics Female Field Athlete of the Year; and |
| WHEREAS, This accomplishment is truly noteworthy, for Jenna Fesemyer has clearly demonstrated her talent and perseverance, as well as her mental and physical fortitude as a member of the Southeast High School track and field team. As this year's champion in the seated shot put and 100-, 400-, and 800-meter wheelchair events at the Ohio High School Athletic Association State Track and Field Meet, she has exemplified all of the characteristics that are essential for success both in and out of the sports world, including courage, determination, and an innate sense of the principles of good sportsmanship, and consequently, she earned All-American honors and was named this year's Female Field Athlete of the Year by the United States Paralympics; and |
| WHEREAS, In displaying such exceptional prowess, Jenna Fesemyer has gained the appreciation of her fellow athletes, the devotion of countless fans, and the respect of even her most determined rivals. Competition in athletics has enabled her to learn much about dedication and self-discipline, and we take this opportunity to acknowledge her exceptional record of achievement; and |
| WHEREAS, Track and field requires exceptional strength and natural ability, and Jenna Fesemyer is to be commended for her commitment to this demanding activity. In attaining her athletic goals, she has consistently exhibited the skill and integrity that are the hallmarks of a true champion; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Jenna Fesemyer as the 2014 U.S. Paralympics Female Field Athlete of the Year and extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further |
