To enact section 117.114 of the Revised Code to | 1 |
require the Auditor of State to conduct | 2 |
performance audits of the Bureau of Workers' | 3 |
Compensation, Environmental Protection Agency, | 4 |
Department of Natural Resources, Department of | 5 |
Agriculture, and Department of Health, and to | 6 |
require the Auditor of State to develop a schedule | 7 |
to provide for periodic performance audits of all | 8 |
state agencies. | 9 |
Section 1. That section 117.114 of the Revised Code be | 10 |
enacted to read as follows: | 11 |
Sec. 117.114. (A) As used in this section, "state agency" | 12 |
means the administrative departments listed in section 121.02 of | 13 |
the Revised Code, the department of taxation, the bureau of | 14 |
workers' compensation, the Ohio board of regents, and the state | 15 |
board of education. | 16 |
(B) Pursuant to sections 117.01, 117.11, and 117.13 of the | 17 |
Revised Code, the auditor of state shall: | 18 |
(1) Conduct performance audits of the bureau of workers' | 19 |
compensation, environmental protection agency, department of | 20 |
natural resources, department of agriculture, and department of | 21 |
health. Each performance audit shall examine the timeliness and | 22 |
effectiveness of agency regulatory procedures and, where | 23 |
appropriate, shall compare the procedures to those of similar | 24 |
agencies in other states. | 25 |
(2) Develop a schedule to provide for periodic performance | 26 |
audits of all state agencies. | 27 |
(C) Not later than thirty days after completing a performance | 28 |
audit under this section, the auditor of state shall submit a | 29 |
report of the audit results to the governor, the speaker of the | 30 |
house of representatives, the president of the senate, the | 31 |
minority leader of the house of representatives, the minority | 32 |
leader of the senate, and the inspector general. | 33 |
Section 2. The schedule required by division (B) of section | 34 |
117.114 of the Revised Code, as presented in this act, shall be | 35 |
created not later than ninety days after the effective date of | 36 |
this section. | 37 |
