AN ACT

Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the

Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for

3

personal earning exempt from process.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Section 8127(a) of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania

7

Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a paragraph to read:

§ 8127.  Personal earnings exempt from process.

(a)  General rule and exceptions.--The wages, salaries and

10

commissions of individuals shall while in the hands of the

11

employer be exempt from any attachment, execution or other

12

process except upon an action or proceeding:

(6)  For recovery and recoupment of compensation paid

15

under the act of December 5, 1936 (2nd Sp.Sess., 1937

16

P.L.2897, No.1), known as the Unemployment Compensation Law,

17

from a person who has been found liable to repay funds

received to the Unemployment Compensation Fund under section

2

804(a) of the act.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
