| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Amending Title 4 (Amusements) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated |
2 | Statutes, providing for additional public meeting procedures. |
3 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
4 | hereby enacts as follows: |
5 | Section 1. Title 4 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes |
6 | is amended by adding a section to read: |
7 | § 1202.2. Additional public meeting procedures. |
8 | In addition to the provisions of 65 Pa.C.S. Ch. 7 (relating |
9 | to open meetings), the board shall, prior to taking official |
10 | action, provide a reasonable opportunity at each advertised |
11 | regular meeting and advertised special or emergency meeting for |
12 | Commonwealth residents to comment on matters of concern or on |
13 | official action or deliberation on issues which are or may be |
14 | before the board. The board has the option to accept all public |
15 | comment at the beginning of the meeting. If the board determines |
16 | that there is not sufficient time at a meeting for residents of |
17 | the Commonwealth to comment, the board may defer the comment |

1 | period to the next regular meeting or to a special meeting |
2 | occurring in advance of the next regular meeting. The board may, |
3 | in its discretion, set reasonable time limits on an individual's |
4 | comments. |
5 | Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately. |
