AN ACT

 

1Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2Statutes, in registration of vehicles, providing for multiple
3war veteran plate; and, in fees, further providing for
4exemption of persons, entities and vehicles from fees.

5The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6hereby enacts as follows:

7Section 1. Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes
8is amended by adding a section to read:

9§ 1369.1.  Multiple-war veteran plate.

10Upon application of any person who is a veteran of all of the
11following wars: World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam
12Conflict, accompanied by a fee of $20 and by such documentation
13as the department shall require, the department shall issue to
14such person a special registration plate designating the vehicle
15so registered as belonging to a person who is a veteran of all
16of those three wars. The special registration plate may be used
17only on one passenger vehicle or one other vehicle with a gross
18weight of not more than 9,000 pounds.

1Section 2.  Section 1901(c) of Title 75 is amended by adding
2a paragraph to read:

3§ 1901.  Exemption of persons, entities and vehicles from fees.

5(c)  Processing fee in lieu of registration fee.--No
6registration fee shall be charged for vehicles registered by any
7of the following but the department shall charge a fee of $10 to
8cover the costs of processing for issuing or renewing the
9registration:

11(24)  Any veteran who served in all of the following
12wars: World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict.

14Section 3.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
