A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
relating to electronically filing any court document in a criminal |
|
case in Cameron County. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Section 24.205, Government Code, is amended by |
|
adding Subsection (e) to read as follows: |
|
(e) A party in a criminal case before the court may |
|
electronically file any required court document if the |
|
commissioners court of the county adopts an order authorizing |
|
filing by that method. |
|
SECTION 2. Section 24.209, Government Code, is amended by |
|
adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: |
|
(d) A party in a criminal case before the court may |
|
electronically file any required court document if the |
|
commissioners court of the county adopts an order authorizing |
|
filing by that method. |
|
SECTION 3. Section 24.240, Government Code, is amended by |
|
adding Subsection (e) to read as follows: |
|
(e) A party in a criminal case before the court may |
|
electronically file any required court document if the |
|
commissioners court of the county adopts an order authorizing |
|
filing by that method. |
|
SECTION 4. Section 24.376, Government Code, is amended by |
|
adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: |
|
(c) A party in a criminal case before the court in Cameron |
|
County may electronically file any required court document if the |
|
commissioners court of the county adopts an order authorizing |
|
filing by that method. |
|
SECTION 5. Section 24.503, Government Code, is amended to |
|
read as follows: |
|
Sec. 24.503. 357TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT (CAMERON COUNTY). (a) |
|
The 357th Judicial District is composed of Cameron County. |
|
(b) A party in a criminal case before the court may |
|
electronically file any required court document if the |
|
commissioners court of the county adopts an order authorizing |
|
filing by that method. |
|
SECTION 6. Section 24.549, Government Code, is amended to |
|
read as follows: |
|
Sec. 24.549. 404TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT (CAMERON COUNTY). (a) |
|
The 404th Judicial District is composed of Cameron County. |
|
(b) A party in a criminal case before the court may |
|
electronically file any required court document if the |
|
commissioners court of the county adopts an order authorizing |
|
filing by that method. |
|
SECTION 7. Section 24.589, Government Code, is amended by |
|
adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: |
|
(c) A party in a criminal case before the court may |
|
electronically file any required court document if the |
|
commissioners court of the county adopts an order authorizing |
|
filing by that method. |
|
SECTION 8. Section 24.640, Government Code, is amended to |
|
read as follows: |
|
Sec. 24.640. 444TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT (CAMERON COUNTY). (a) |
|
The 444th Judicial District is composed of Cameron County. |
|
(b) A party in a criminal case before the court may |
|
electronically file any required court document if the |
|
commissioners court of the county adopts an order authorizing |
|
filing by that method. |
|
SECTION 9. Section 25.0332, Government Code, is amended by |
|
adding Subsection (b) to read as follows: |
|
(b) A party in a criminal case before the court may |
|
electronically file any required court document if the |
|
commissioners court of the county adopts an order authorizing |
|
filing by that method. |
|
SECTION 10. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
