A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to notification regarding certain changes to early voting |
|
|
polling locations. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 85, Election Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 85.0041 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 85.0041. NOTICE OF CHANGED POLLING PLACE LOCATION. |
|
|
(a) If an authority holding an election does not use as an early |
|
|
voting polling place a location used in the preceding election held |
|
|
by the authority, the early voting clerk for that authority shall |
|
|
notify a person who represents the location. |
|
|
(b) A notification under this section must be given as soon |
|
|
as practicable after the authority finally determines the location |
|
|
of each early voting polling place for an election. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
