A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to polling places for runoff elections in certain small
  counties.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 43.001, Election Code, is amended to
  read as follows:
         Sec. 43.001.  ONE POLLING PLACE IN EACH PRECINCT; EXCEPTION.
  (a) Except as provided by Subsection (b), each [Each] election
  precinct established for an election shall be served by a single
  polling place located within the boundary of the precinct.
         (b)  A county with a population of less than 11,000 and an
  area of less than 600 square miles may be served by a single polling
  place in a runoff election.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
