BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 43.001, Election Code, is amended to | ||
read as follows: | ||
Sec. 43.001. ONE POLLING PLACE IN EACH PRECINCT; EXCEPTION. | ||
(a) Except as provided by Subsection (b), each [ |
||
precinct established for an election shall be served by a single | ||
polling place located within the boundary of the precinct. | ||
(b) A county with a population of less than 11,000 and an | ||
area of less than 600 square miles may be served by a single polling | ||
place in a runoff election. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
