| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 31, Natural Resources | ||
| Code, is amended by adding Section 31.069 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 31.069. RESPONSE TO REQUEST TO USE CERTAIN REAL | ||
| PROPERTY OWNED BY STATE. (a) The commissioner or the | ||
| commissioner's designee shall respond in writing to a written | ||
| request by a political subdivision or state agency for approval of | ||
| the use of real property owned by the state that is administered by | ||
| the land office. | ||
| (b) A written response made under this section, if the | ||
| request is denied, must provide a reason for the denial. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | ||
