A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the abolishment of the process server review board. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 74.024(a), Government Code, is amended |
|
|
to read as follows: |
|
|
(a) Except as provided by this subsection, the [The] supreme |
|
|
court may adopt rules of administration setting policies and |
|
|
guidelines necessary or desirable for the operation and management |
|
|
of the court system and for the efficient administration of |
|
|
justice. The supreme court may not adopt a rule that creates an |
|
|
occupational regulatory program for process servers. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Sections 51.008, 72.013, and 72.091, Government |
|
|
Code, are repealed. |
|
|
SECTION 3. On the effective date of this Act, the process |
|
|
server review board is abolished. |
|
|
SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
