A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the manufacture, sale, and distribution of products |
|
|
developed using mRNA material in the prevention or treatment of a |
|
|
communicable disease. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 431, Health and Safety |
|
|
Code, is amended by adding Section 431.0215 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 431.0215. ADDITIONAL PROHIBITED ACTS. (a) In this |
|
|
section, "mRNA material" means a substance that introduces |
|
|
messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) corresponding to a viral protein. |
|
|
(b) A person may not manufacture, sell, or distribute a |
|
|
product developed through the use of mRNA material in the |
|
|
prevention or treatment of a communicable disease. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
