relating to the procedures of the State Commission on Judicial | ||
Conduct. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 33.0211, Government Code, is amended by | ||
adding Subsections (c) and (c-1) to read as follows: | ||
(c) Unless the Commission has commenced an informal hearing | ||
or initiated formal proceedings related to a complaint, the | ||
Commission must dismiss a complaint on the first Monday after 455 | ||
days from the date the complaint was received by the Commission. | ||
(c-1) The executive director may recommend, and the | ||
chairperson may approve an extension of up to 120 days for complaint | ||
disposition due to extenuating circumstances, including a need for | ||
further investigation. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
