| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 41, Education Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 41.0032 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 41.0032. INCLUSION OF STUDENTS ATTENDING | ||
| OPEN-ENROLLMENT CHARTER SCHOOLS IN DETERMINING WEIGHTED AVERAGE | ||
| DAILY ATTENDANCE. Notwithstanding Section 41.001(3), a student | ||
| residing in the boundaries of a school district who is attending an | ||
| open-enrollment charter school is included in calculating the | ||
| district's weighted average daily attendance. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | ||
