A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
|
| |
|
|
relating to appropriating money to the Texas Department of |
|
|
Transportation for the purpose of construction of, maintenance of, |
|
|
and acquisition of rights-of-way for certain public roadways. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. In addition to amounts appropriated to the Texas |
|
|
Department of Transportation by Senate Bill No. 1, Acts of the 83rd |
|
|
Legislature, Regular Session, 2013 (the General Appropriations |
|
|
Act), the amount of $2,000,000,000 is appropriated out of the |
|
|
economic stabilization fund to the department for the state fiscal |
|
|
biennium ending August 31, 2015, for the purpose of construction |
|
|
of, maintenance of, and acquisition of rights-of-way for public |
|
|
roadways other than toll roads. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect January 1, 2014, but only |
|
|
if: |
|
|
(1) the constitutional amendment proposed by House |
|
|
Joint Resolution No. 1, Senate Joint Resolution No. 1, or similar |
|
|
legislation of the 83rd legislature, 2nd Called Session, 2013, is |
|
|
not approved by the voters; and |
|
|
(2) this Act receives a vote of two-thirds of the |
|
|
members present in each house of the legislature, as provided by |
|
|
Section 49-g(m), Article III, Texas Constitution. |
