A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to materials for school districts on human trafficking. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 38, Education Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 38.0042 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 38.0042. MATERIALS ON HUMAN TRAFFICKING. The agency, |
|
|
in consultation with experts in the field of human trafficking |
|
|
prevention, shall make available to each school district: |
|
|
(1) training materials for school personnel on human |
|
|
trafficking, including strategies for the prevention of |
|
|
trafficking of children; and |
|
|
(2) resource materials that describe local, state, and |
|
|
national resources to which students, parents, counselors, and |
|
|
school personnel can refer for information on human trafficking, |
|
|
including strategies for the prevention of trafficking of children. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
