A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to payments made to certain foster parents. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 264.101, Family Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (a-3) to read as follows: |
|
|
(a-3) In addition to the daily foster care reimbursement |
|
|
rate paid to a foster parent under this section, the department |
|
|
shall pay an additional amount equal to 40 percent of the daily |
|
|
foster care reimbursement rate paid to the foster parent if the |
|
|
foster parent: |
|
|
(1) cares for a foster child who is 16 years of age or |
|
|
younger; and |
|
|
(2) has an adjusted household income that does not |
|
|
exceed 150 percent of the current federal poverty guidelines for |
|
|
the relevant household size. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
