WHEREAS, A 70th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of | ||
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Cecil and Wilma | ||
Halfmann of St. Lawrence celebrated this joyous milestone in their | ||
marriage on October 14, 2023; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Halfmann were joined in matrimony in | ||
1953 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Olfen; over the years, they | ||
have been blessed with a treasured family that includes their 10 | ||
children, 30 grandchildren, and 59 great-grandchildren; and | ||
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. and | ||
Mrs. Halfmann retired from farming in 1995, and their many hobbies | ||
have included dancing, gardening, and playing dominoes and cards; | ||
in addition, Mr. Halfmann took up woodworking in his retirement, | ||
and Mrs. Halfmann is an avid quilter who also takes pleasure in | ||
baking and playing bunco; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Halfmann have enjoyed seven decades of | ||
abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an | ||
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting | ||
commitment; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the 88th Legislature of the State of Texas, | ||
4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Cecil and Wilma Halfmann on | ||
their 70th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best | ||
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Halfmann as an expression of high regard | ||
by the Texas House of Representatives and Senate. |
