R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Texans everywhere are indebted to the men and women |
|
of the law enforcement profession, for by their selfless devotion |
|
to the public welfare, they enable us to enjoy the benefits of a |
|
peaceful and orderly society; and |
|
WHEREAS, Too seldom recognized, and sometimes taken for |
|
granted by the public they so faithfully serve, these gallant |
|
individuals daily risk their lives in order to ensure domestic |
|
tranquility and to protect the lives and property of others; and |
|
WHEREAS, Sergeant Stacey A. Baumgartner of the Patton Village |
|
Police Department exemplified in his personal and professional |
|
conduct the singular virtues of courage, integrity, and steadfast |
|
resolve, and throughout his six years, four months on the force, his |
|
meritorious service embodied the highest ideals of his vocation; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Killed in the line of duty on June 19, 2016, Sergeant |
|
Baumgartner will long be missed by his family, his fellow peace |
|
officers, and the entire community; and |
|
WHEREAS, Though his life ended far too soon, Sergeant |
|
Baumgartner left behind a record of public service that is |
|
deserving of his fellow citizens' lasting respect and gratitude; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Sergeant Stacey |
|
A. Baumgartner and extend deepest sympathy to his relatives, |
|
friends, and fellow officers; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Sergeant |
|
Stacey A. Baumgartner. |
