R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Dedicated to helping women and families, the Brazos |
|
|
Pregnancy Clinic plays an important role in the community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The clinic provides a range of free services, |
|
|
including pregnancy tests, confidential life coaching, one-on-one |
|
|
parenting instruction, and maternity and baby supplies; moreover, |
|
|
the clinic offers an abstinence program, which is presented by |
|
|
students for students, and education on such topics as parenting, |
|
|
sexually transmitted diseases, and adoption; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The clinic serves more than 500 clients a year, in |
|
|
addition to benefiting numerous other area residents with its |
|
|
outreach efforts; during 2011-2012, over 2,500 young people in |
|
|
Tolar, Granbury, and Lipan schools and churches received |
|
|
information from the Brazos Pregnancy Clinic about sexual health |
|
|
and the challenges that can accompany early, unplanned pregnancies; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This important organization has demonstrated an |
|
|
unwavering commitment to women and families, and its endeavors in |
|
|
their behalf are indeed worthy of special recognition; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor the Brazos Pregnancy Clinic for its |
|
|
contributions to Hood County and the State of Texas. |
