R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, For 30 years, Camp Kadima in El Paso has provided
  children and adults with special needs the chance to experience the
  fun, excitement, and friendship of a summer camp; and
         WHEREAS, Camp Kadima is a three-week-long summer day camp
  designed to accommodate persons with a range of physical and
  developmental disabilities; supported and overseen by the Jewish
  Federation of Greater El Paso, the camp hosted its first season in
  1987, and now it has grown from five to nearly 30 campers, some of
  whom have attended the camp almost since it opened; and
         WHEREAS, Activities that foster the development of motor,
  communication, and social skills are offered both on and off
  campus, and campers, who are encouraged to participate in
  activities to the best of their abilities, have the opportunity to
  learn practical skills that can help them live more independently;
  and
         WHEREAS, Now led by Robin Gold, administrator, and Tom
  Murphy, director, Camp Kadima is helping individuals with
  disabilities learn, grow, and create memories that will last a
  lifetime, and all those involved in this exemplary program may take
  great pride in all that they are achieving; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby honor Camp Kadima on its
  30th anniversary and extend to the program's organizers and
  participants sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Camp Kadima as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
