R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Morris McRae of Miller High School in Corpus Christi |
|
received fitting recognition when he was named 2015 Secondary |
|
Teacher of the Year by the Corpus Christi Independent School |
|
District; and |
|
WHEREAS, A U.S. and world history teacher at Miller High |
|
School since 2009, Mr. McRae is also an advanced placement |
|
instructor in the same subjects; his project-based approach to |
|
teaching has made his classes popular with students and won him an |
|
earlier accolade, when he was named Teacher of the Year for the |
|
2010-2011 school year; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. McRae holds a bachelor's degree summa cum laude |
|
in history, and he earned a master's degree in educational and |
|
instructional technology from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi |
|
in 2014; he also brings to his classes his 21 years of prior |
|
experience in the business world as an account executive at |
|
Motorola Codex; and |
|
WHEREAS, Morris McRae exemplifies the passion, |
|
determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |
|
best teachers, and he is inspiring in his students a love of |
|
learning that will serve them well throughout their lives; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Morris McRae on being named |
|
Secondary Teacher of the Year by the Corpus Christi Independent |
|
School District and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. McRae as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
